Khechari vidya

Q: we would like to ask You to make some commentaries on khechari vidya; there are many different new terms? Q: no, they are saying that yogi can be successful only with mantra without madhana? They were trying to simplify divine things to make them easier for understanding.

When the sadhus already lost their muscle power and could not put the tongue — they were using different things to help themselves. It means Guru gives the real mystery, not just some words or sounds to recite. Only with the practice the development will come. Only by the very regular practice he will refine and make his art perfect. Guruji: of course sometimes we need to clarify some questions — but then refinement should come to your practice and the art should be perfected.

Q: when yogi drink amrita — he really becomes free of age and death and he became khecharatva — something connected with ether?

Guruji: it means he become able to fly. His body will become so light tat he will be able to fly. Read Hatha Yoga Pradipika: when every mudra is done very successful — only then the result will come. Q: in the next shloka they are talking about not siddhas or maha siddhas but magic shoes? Guruji: you can put on this paduka and travel as far as you want.

They describes so many things — thousands of different mantras or other magical methods; also some paste could be made and put on your shoes; when you put on such magic padukas — you can go miles in one second and come back.

Guruji: one particular tree is mentioned in many books; usually they are made from wood. Q: someone who want achieve this siddhi must to repeat saptakuta mantra millions of times, then bring the alcohol….

Guruji: all these things are part of that practice; when Bhairav will be pleased and grant you something very precious, the special wisdom — if you will be successful in that. Guruji: it should be mentioned in original Sanskrit. Some mantras are described in Mantrabhava: you read the details — and then you discover the another layer upon layer.

Here could be the six knots of particular mantra — or maybe seven notes must be there. Guruji: when you start to experience the suspended animation — then the process will on. Instead od searching of magic shoes just climb on a big mountain — it will take you khecharatva. Guruji: paravastha is when you have reached the goal, achieve the goal what you were trying to achieve.

Q: near closed doors of brahma there are four great parts; from west side is kala called krita, from south side called gupta, from east — siva, and from north — parapara siva?

Paramashiva means supreme; all others are means to reach that dark corner of the brain where he lives, the superconsciousness. These are four different parts of the brain. North is top of the head; east is in front and west is in the back.

And south is in muladhara. Remember, it is also extension of the brain — that is the south side of the brain, you cannot separate spinal cord from that. Q: from where amrita is coming? These four parts are Chandrika, kanti, jyotsna and shri? This area is called moon — even the sign of crescent moon, where the amrita forms. I think it maybe the special type of hormone, which forms with very heavy, prolonged and successful practice.

They used the term amrita, which creates by different positions of the tongue. All these four parts are between the eyebrows. The main property of the moon is jyotsna: without light of the moon you even will not become aware of the moon. What is their healing power? It is just the part of the nectar of the moon, which they are carry inside.Without eating, drinking or getting up for toilet.

How one develops the mind and body to be able to sit in samadhi without any damage to gross physical body is by perfecting the science of Khechari. Kak Bhushundi, Lomesh Maharishi are two prominent Siddhas who are adept in this science. Khechari science enable ones to gain full control over hunger and thirst.

One can even achieve vastly long life to be deemed immortal using this science. Through the thousands petal lotus on the crown chakra falls a special nectar which is collected on the tongue by rolling the tongue backwards and lifting it and inserting it up behind the nasal passage.

Then by concentrating on the tip of nose or on the agya chakra by getting in Unmani mudra, one concentrates on the nectar dripping from crown chakra. It is not magic but a potential capability in all human beings which must be harnessed to become a truly cosmic personality.

So one has to harness all the energy inhernt in the body along with absorbing energies from the outer space and universe. To survive in himalaya, to do sadhana and get in long term samadhi, this science of Khechari was invented by Lord Shiva.

The whole Khechari science is so vast that it cannot be known without a guru and practicing under guidance. But khechari mudra is available at many websites and many gurus too teach it easily. Not just in Himalaya but in all parts of India there have been Siddhas of Khechari vidya. Some siddhas are known to use khechari science in deserts to live without getting thirsty.

Kaulantak Peethadheeswar Mahayogi Satyendra Nath ji Maharaj sitting in samadhi without food and water for 13 days.

Prahlad Jani, who was put in 24 X 7 under observation without food and water for days and with all biological activities being monitored. It was found that he was adept at recycling the waste water forming in the bladder, purifying it and channelizing it again to be used.

This he said was done using Khechari vidya. In the below video, we see how Mahayogi ji gets up from the samadhi of 13 days and what he says afterwards.

Kechari is an advanced practice that enables the yogi to reach higher states of consciousness. Kechari mudra is a yoga practice where the tongue is rolled up to touch the soft palate initially and then with due practice it is inserted into the nasal cavity behind the palette.

This is an advanced practice and the yogi is said to overcome thirst, hunger, decay and death by this practice. For most people this needs prolonged effort. The tongue should be rolled up to touch the upper palate. Initially it may be able to touch only the hard palate. With practice, it can go further behind to touch the soft palate. Later touches the uvula at the back of the throat.

With practice, the tongue can go beyond the uvula and enters the nasal cavity to stimulate certain points inside the cavity. This may take months or years of practice. Eventually the yogi is able to taste the nectar or Amrit which flows from the roof of the nasal cavity. This nectar energizes the body and helps to overcome the need for thirst and food.

There are two ways to perform Kechari mudrawith or without cutting the frenum membrane under the tongue. In the Raja Yoga method, cutting the frenum is not advised. Instead, with certain practices like Talabya kriyathe tongue can be made long enough to enter the nasal cavity.

In Hatha Yoga method, the frenum membrane below the tongue is cut bit by bit to extend the tongue. This enables the tongue to easily pass into the nasal cavity.

The Hatha Yoga technique is only for advanced yogis and should be done only under the guidance of a yogi who is an expert in Kechari Mudra. For advanced practitioners, cutting of the frenum membrane is advised.

In the Gheranda Samhitait is said that the frenum can be cut, bit by bit. The tongue is also drawn out and made elongated by applying butter or ghee.

This is continued till the tongue is long enough to reach the eye brow center. This requires the guidance from an expert yogi who is accomplished in the art of Kechari Vidya. Do not attempt it by yourself. Kechari can be practiced in conjunction with other yoga practices like Ujjayi pranayamaShambhavi mudra and other meditation techniques.
